DelFest
DelFest • DelFest was born from the desire to create a family-friendly music festival celebrating the rich legacy of McCoury music by providing a forum for world-class musical collaborations while also exposing fresh new talent.
Del McCoury stands astride the two worlds of traditional Appalachian mountain music and the youthful jamgrass audience that looks to him as a model of authenticity and musical integrity. Now the leading man of contemporary bluegrass hosts his very own festival bringing together those two worlds, plus a dash of mainstream country music, on the border between north and south. The event in its second year already includes a range of features and amenities of a more mature festival.
Our website is the resource for everything from schedules to camping to directions. Subscribe to our eNewsletter for the latest news and updates, and connect with other DelFest fans on the Del McCoury Band Facebook Page.

On-site you’ll find incredible music all day long on our Grandstand Stage, intimate Artist Playshops, Late Night Shows, a Bluegrass Band Competition, a fun-filled Kids Area, a quality Art & Craft Faire, delicious food and drinks, plentiful camping space and RV hookups, and much more. Cumberland, MD is a charming Victorian town nestled in the Potomac River Valley in Western Maryland, only a few short hours from many major metropolitan areas yet a world apart amidst the lush landscape of the Appalachian Mountains.
The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland, held a special Bluegrass Train to launch DelFest, an annual bluegrass festival held in honor of music legend Del McCoury. Train riders got to meet Del on their trip from Cumberland to Frostburg. Once in Frostburg, the public was entertained by The Vinegar Creek Constituency, which included a special number with Del. The event was co-sponsored by WAMU Bluegrass Country Radio
